About the Organisation
The Yura Yungi Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation (YYMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) located in Halls Creek, WA.
YYMS's functions include providing comprehensive primary health care services to the Aboriginal populations and others in and around Halls Creek. The service provides primary health care clinical services and population health programs in Halls Creek and at the outlying Ringer's Soak community.
About the Opportunity
YYMS now has an opportunity for Two Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) Educator to join their multidisciplinary team on a full-time basis. This role is being offered on a permanent basis. Reporting to the SEWB Manager.
Some of your other key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Building knowledge and relationships with identified Indigenous Regions stakeholders and communities.
- Develop Tackling Indigenous Smoking health promotion materials and resources in consultation and response to community needs.
- Maintain records as directed by the YYMS Management and the Regional coordinator (KAMS) of all events, education and training sessions provide accurate data for DOH funding reports
- Visit and deliver TIS program activities to each community at least once. Communities include Balgo, Bililuna, Halls Creek, Mulan, Ringer Soak and Warmun. Travel may be required to other communities within the TIS region.
- Organise and deliver at least one school education and one community education session in each of your assigned remote communities.
As this role is based in a remote Aboriginal community, as such, you will need to have previous experience working with Aboriginal clients and/or a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture.

About the Benefits
You will be rewarded with a highly attractive base salary of $75,000 to $85,000 (depending on experience) per annum pro rata plus superannuation and a further host of benefits, including:
- 5 weeks annual leave;
- Salary packaging up to $31,177 annually
- Work hours are from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (no weekends!)
